The National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Inc. - Beta Chapter

Beta Chapter initiated the custom of celebrating Tri- Founders' Day with Gamma Chapter (Baltimore, MD) and Alpha Mu Chapter (Annapolis, MD) in 1972 The three chapters host on a rotating basis.This year, 2015, Beta Chapter hosted. The chair was First Anti Basileus Karen Bell who executed a great afternoon program with our sister chapters. The welcome and greetings were brought by the three chapter Basilei, followed by an opening prayer and a musical selection. Past Supreme Basileus Ardena Dixon, Gamma Chapter, was in attendance. We were treated with a performance from the Calvery  Christian Academy  students who were from grades Kindergarten through Grade Six.Their performances expressed their views on "Black Lives Matter" through poetry, spoken word, and dramatizations.

Our keynote speaker was Patricia Bradford, author and retired teacher who shared exerts from her recent book, City Squirels. Special presentations included: recognitions by Gamma Chapter to their Basileus Bessie Black and to Basileus Phyllis Valentine by Beta Chapter. A memoriam to Dorothy Worthy, Past Beta Basileus was displayed. Our Founders' Day Tourch Lighting Ceremony lead by the  three Basilei followed the conclusion of the program.
